About Shelter Interiors
Carolyn and Tricia met at their first jobs out of design school. While working in the commercial design industry they formed a friendship that evolved into the establishment of Shelter Interiors in 2007. Since then this duo has had the pleasure of working with families to build their dream homes as well as international companies to create amazing offices that are effective and on brand. Shelter’s work has won awards and been featured in several National and local magazines and online publications. They were honored to be selected among a handful of designers to participate in the renovation of the Governor’s mansion in Hartford, CT.
When not designing they can be found gathering inspiration together at concerts by their favorite rock bands, heading to NYC, or exploring local seaside towns.

Tricia Izzo
Principal Designer & Owner
Tricia credits her love of design in part to her grandfather, a painter and decorator, and the inspiration abundant growing up just blocks from the Long Island Sound. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Bridgeport, Tricia worked at prestigious architecture and interior design firms throughout Fairfield County. She honed her excellent sense of color and design expertise on a diverse range of projects from luxe waterfront residences, to cutting-edge corporate interiors, as well as the hottest restaurants up the coast. Tricia appreciates a myriad of architectural styles and consistently fuels her world with design inspiration from travel, NYC, and coastal Connecticut life. She lives in beautiful Milford where she enjoys redesigning her home for the ever-changing needs of her family, and their two growing children.
